File Management
The File Management tab gives you a way to direct Binjet output. You
can tell Binjet where to save files it downloads, depending on file
type. The tab contains a list of file categories and a set of controls
that let you create new categories as well as remove or change existing
ones. After downloading and assembling a file, Binjet determines the
category the file belongs to based on the file name extension, and saves
the file to the output directory of this category. Optionally, Binjet
may start a default application (such as an image browser for images)
if this option is switched ON for the category.
Tip: if you want all your downloaded files placed in one directory,
delete all file categories except Default.
The Categories List
The list displays the following information about each file category:
- Category name - a meaningful
name of the category that you've assigned to it. The name should be
unique, descriptive and not too long.
- Download directory - a directory
where downloaded files of this category are placed.
- Start viewer - is Yes if after
downloading and saving a file, Binjet attempts to start a default
application with this file.
The Categories Control Buttons
These are located to the right of the categories list.
- New - when clicked does nothing
except explaining how to add a new category. To add a new category,
you have to complete Category Details Form in the lower part of the
dialog and click on the Add New Category button on the form.
- Remove - removes the currently
selected category. Use with care.
The Category Details Form
This form shows details of currently selected category. It also used
to input details of a new category when creating it, or change details
of an existing category. The form contains the following fields:
- Category name - a meaningful
name of the category that you've assigned to it. The name should be
unique, descriptive and not too long.
- File name extensions - name
extensions of files that belong to this category. When finished downloading
a file, Binjet tries to determine its category by looking for one
that has the file name extension. If none found, Binjet assigns the
file to the Default category.
- Downloading directory - output
directory for files of this category.
- Automatically start viewer (player)
with downloaded files - if this is checked, Binjet attempts
to start a default application with files of this category after downloading
and saving them.

a small dialog box that lets you type in a few file name extensions
to be added to the category.

before you can select it.
